East BAy Oaks to attend 2019 national Baseball for All tournament
Baseball players from around North America, including at least two teams from the Oaks, are set to attend the fifth annual Baseball For All Tournament, to be held outside Chicago from July 31 through August 5.
The East Bay Oaks host first ever western regional
girls tournament and compete in 2018 nationals
More than 100 ballplayers descended on the East Bay in June 2018 for the Western Regional Tournament, held in connection with the baseball organization Baseball For All (BFA).
The tournament was the first bookend of two regional tournaments held by BFA — a western and an eastern tournament — that surround the annual National Tournament held in August 2018 in Rockford, Illinois. All are designed to give female ballplayers an opportunity to hone their skills and compete against one another in head-to-head competition.
This will be the third tournament that the East Bay Oaks Girls Baseball Team has participated in since the organization's founding in 2016. After competing in the 2016 National Tournament in San Francisco, the Oaks traveled to Rockford in August 2017 to compete in that National Tournament where the 11U Oaks swept the first four games — besting Canada 150 (19-1), DC Force (9-7), The Caminos (10-4) and the LA Monarchs (16-15) — before coming in second place against the Boston Slammers in the 11U Championship Game.
In the 2018 National Tournament, the 11U East Bay Oaks played in a division with seven other 11U teams, and welcomed players from Canada, Wisconsin, Iowa and Arizona to our team. Our new 14U team held their own in a series of competitive and thrilling games against with three other teams in the 14U division.
